Monitoring Application Servers

We all know that systems need to be monitored, be it a web server, email server, CRM, or any other system out there. Fortunately most systems have some kind of web interface allowing you to access them via the web. Being able to acess from the web means also that these can be monitored by periodically checking that they are up. Netumo is not only good to monitor your websites but also application servers such as:
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft Sharepoint
  • Kerio Connect
  • Lotus Notes
  • IceWarp Server
  • Joomla
  • WordPress
  • Drupal
  • Secure Email Gateways
  • Routers Cisco/NetGear/ASR/LinkSys
In theory Netumo can monitor any application that has a web interface and is accessible from the www. To monitor such applications you would require to get a piece of HTML from the web portal and use that as the key text that needs to be matched by Netumo. So for example to monitor Outlook Web Access (i.e. Microsoft Exchange Interface), open the OWA page in your browser, right click and select View Source. Find a section that identifies that the correct page loaded, copy it and paste it in the HTML Code section for the Website Monitor as shown below.

Netumo will then check that the code returned is correct and if not it will immediatly notify you on either email, twitter or SMS giving you a head start so that you can take action.
